Vancouver is filled with green parks and beaches. There are countless options of places to go and spend your day outside in Vancouver. Nicknamed the California of Canada, Vancouver has the most comfortable climate year round out of all Canadian cities. While the winters are rainy and cloudy, the springs, summers and falls maintain weather conditions that make it ideal to spend your days outside. With the cost-of-living being so expensive in Vancouver, Vancouverites are always looking for things they can do cost-free. Visiting parks and beaches are some of those activities. One of the best municipal parks to visit in Vancouver is Queen Elizabeth Park and we are here to tell you why.

Its Massive

They say size doesn’t matter, but when it comes to outdoor space, the bigger, the better. The Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver is about 130 acres, located on Cambie Street. The driving entrance to the park is on W33rd Ave, but can be accessed via the walking path at several different entrances around the park. Queen Elizabeth park provides an abundance of space for many different activities, many of which are conveniently built into the park already. With the amount of free-space available in the park, it is easy to find a spot to sit and chill for the day with your friends, and maintain a private distance from others.

Things to Do

The Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver has countless activity options, many of which are already built into the park, as well as the space to bring your own activities. The list of activities that are already provided by the park are tennis courts, disc golf course, pitch & putt course, baseball diamond, duck feeding pond, gardens to walk through, and pickleball. The park also includes a designated off-leash area for your dogs to run around and play with others. Make sure that you only let your pup off leash in the designated area. Please be respectful and pick-up after your dogs!! If you are just walking around the park, you will have to keep your furry friend on their leash. Other activities you can do at the park (if you have the supplies) are bocci ball, volleyball, spike ball, sun-tanning, picnics, frisbee, board games, and the list goes on.

Things to Look At

With gorgeous city and mountain views from the park, you will not be disappointed with the scenery surrounding you. The city of Vancouver provides views that are fantastic from wherever in the city you are. Since the Queen Elizabeth park is located outside of downtown it highlights the cityscape, as well as the beautiful landscape that borders the city for your viewing pleasure. Not only are the surrounding views spectacular, the park itself is landscaped to perfection with towering trees and flourishing gardens. Taking a stroll through the Quarry Gardens is a relaxing sunday-afternoon activity you don’t want to pass up.

Smoke a Joint

Now, enough with the fluff. We all know that the best way to enjoy these activities in the park is after smoking a joint or taking an edible. It’s just facts, okay. Every outdoor activity is unexplainably more entertaining after indulging in some marijuana. Trees are greener, flowers are brighter, the sky is bluer, everyone and everything is more funny. Try and smoke before coming to the park to avoid the risk of cranky-karen-complainers ruining your high.
